Develops Trichoderma biocontrol for Ceratocystis fimbriata in melina plantations and identifies tree dieback pathogens.

Studies how prescribed fire changes soil carbon, microbial communities and nutrient cycling in pine forests.

Rehabilitates dryland rangelands with native species and measures greenhouse gases to validate restoration sites.

Uses genomics and metabolomics to trace microbial carbon and nitrogen cycling in post-fire soils.

Develops microbe-based biocontrol for forest pests, including pine wilt disease, with UAV monitoring.

Engineers fungi to control nematode and insect pests in agriculture and forestry.

Advances transformation and gene editing methods for forest trees such as Populus trichocarpa.

Studies how tree species and land management drive soil carbon and nitrogen cycling in forests.

Uses UAV remote sensing for tree detection, surface runoff prediction and forest management.
